William Hilton Parr

William Hilton Parr, 94, passed away on December 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ora Kilgore Parr, his parents William and Zada Parr and his sister Lois Beaver. He is survived by his son, Steve Parr (Anita), his daughter Susan Deal (Tommy), his four grandsons Andy Parr (Katie), Ragan Deal (Jessica), William Deal (Mary Kate), and Ben Parr (Whitney). He is also survived by his 8 great- grandchildren, Dorothy Deal, Adeline Deal, Brooks Parr, Thomas Deal, River Parr, Rylee Parr, Reese Parr, Parker Parr, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Bill was a devoted follower of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and served the Lord faithfully all of his life. He served as a deacon at Highlands Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL for 45 years and for the last 20 years at CrossPoint Church in Trussville, AL. He was honored by CrossPoint in 2017 when he was named Deacon Emeritus. In addition to his service in many ministries in his local church, he was passionate about missions. Along with his wife, Ora, he participated in numerous mission trips and served in local mission efforts with internationals for many years. He actively shared his faith with everyone he encountered. He was born and raised in Selma, AL and served in the United States Air Force following high school graduation. Upon his return from the military, he met and married the love of his life, Ora Kilgore. After a very brief courtship and engagement, they were married in 1954. They moved to Chicago, IL and on to Ft. Worth, TX before settling in Huntsville, AL where they lived for over 45 years before moving to Trussville in 2005. He worked as an engineer for Chrysler Corporation for most of his career in the space industry and automotive industry. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also a cherished friend, servant and mentor to many. His legacy continues through his family and the many people he served for many years. The family would like to express thanks to the sweet folks at Peachtree Senior Living who faithfully loved and ministered to Bill and Ora for several years. The funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22 at CrossPoint Church in Trussville, conducted by Bill’s “4 favorite pastors,” Ryan Whitley, John Thweatt, Gary Hollingsworth and Buck Poole. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am followed by a celebration worship service at 10:00 am. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Huntsville Memory Gardens in Huntsville, AL.
