June 6, 2026 | Age 77 Patricia Toni Burger, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at the age of 77. Born and raised in Etowah County, Alabama, Toni lived a life defined by love, faith, and an unwavering devotion to the people around her. Those who knew Toni knew her heart. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and cherished — whether it was a neighbor stopping by, a friend in need, or a grandchild seeking her embrace. She loved people deeply and served them freely, asking nothing in return. Her home was always open, her table always set, and her spirit always willing. Toni found great joy in reading, in the warmth of good conversation, and in her church community, where her faith was both her anchor and her compass. She served wherever she was needed, quietly and faithfully, leaving her mark not in grand gestures but in countless small acts of kindness that those who received them will never forget. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dewey Burger; her son, Chris (Billa) Burger; her daughter-in-law, Serena Burger; her grandchildren, Kristen (Kaleb) Presley, Drake Burger, Chase Burger, Madison Burger, Sarah Burger, and Brooklyn Channell, her great granddaughter, Kaleigh Belle Presley, a host of beloved nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Burger; her mother, Betty Barksdale; and her siblings, Hoyt Henderson, Walt Henderson, Frances Robertson, Doris McBurnett, and Phyllis Moore. Toni leaves behind a legacy written not in words, but in the lives she touched — the meals she made, the prayers she offered, and the love she gave without measure. Heaven is richer for her presence, and this world is quieter without her. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Alabama. Dr. Jason Ellen will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gadsden, Alabama. Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm prior to the service. “She loved people and served them well.” Pallbearers will be Drake Burger, Chase Burger, Kaleb Presley, Rick Kemp, Otis Toney and Patrick McGuire.
