Kathy Wilson

Mary Katherine (Stone) Wilson Age 70 She passed away, August 22, 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends. Kathy was born April 10, 1956, in Jefferson County, AL. She was a cherished member of Highland View Baptist Church for over 30 years; her faith was an important part of her life. She loved her church family and found comfort and joy in her relationship with the Lord. For 33 years, she proudly served her community as a Special Needs School bus driver for the Jefferson County School System. During those years, she touched the lives of countless children and their families. She was known not only for getting her students safely to and from school, but also for the kindness, patience, and care she showed them along the way. Her dedication to her work reflected the loving person she was. She also spent 30 years working at Cosby Nursery, where she enjoyed her work and the people she met along the way. Her years of hard work and dedication were an important part of who she was, and she took pride in everything she did. One of the things that brought her the greatest joy was her love for her Grand Daughters and Great Grandchildren. She spent countless hours playing and having fun with them. Kathy loved her animals, especially her beloved pets Rocko and Walter. They were more than just pets to her-they were family. She cared for them deeply, spoiled them with love, and found comfort and companionship in their presence. Her tender heart extended to every animal she encountered, and her family will always remember the special place her pets held in her life. Kathy was always the spunky, big cutup and loved having fun with her family and friends, above all she treasured her family. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, her faith, her diligent spirit, and the memories she created with those she loved. She had a way of making people feel cared for, and her love will continue to live on through her family and all those lives she touched. She is survived by her husband Don Wilson, brother, Gary “Stoney” Stone (Joyce); granddaughters Megan Smith and Katie Smith; daughter-in-law Marian Smith; great-grandchildren Rayden and Jensen Nail; brother-in-law James Nabers (Jenny); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie “Kat” Stone; her father, Robert Stone; her stepfather, Dwight “Cuck” Melton; her son, Joel Smith; her brother, Bobby Stone (Shirley); and her sisters, Sue Kerr (James) and Joyce Nabers. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that her faith has carried her home. Her love, kindness, and beautiful memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
