Harry James Crane

Harry James Crane, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and realtor has a new address. On Tuesday, July 19th 2016, at 71 years old, Harry, aka Honest Abe, moved in with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. He was well known in North Jefferson County and well liked by most. He either, sold you your house, helped you sell your house, pranked you in some way or spent some time chatting with you at Waffle House or Our Place. He loved to talk about God, his family, your family, politics and the community. He could tell the best stories, stopping constantly to tell you how the people in the story were distantly related to someone you might know. He was often seen out and about with his best friend, chauffeur, partner in crime and broker, Don Piatt. Christmas was his favorite holiday and for many years he hosted the most amazing synchronized Christmas light display in the county. While he loved the holiday he never forgot or let you forget “the reason for the season” and his Christmas lights were a tribute to the birth of Jesus Christ. Diabetes and leukemia wracked his body, but his mind, his sense of humor and his heart were never damaged. If you were his friend, you have no doubt how much he cared about you and his love extended beyond you to everyone you cared about. His love for his children and especially his grandchildren was immeasurable. He dearly loved his mother, Florence Lucille Harden Crane, father, Henry James Crane and sisters, Barbara Crane Hudson and Joann Crane Easter, who moved to Heaven before him. His wife, Lula Crane; children, Timothy Crane, Lisa Crane-Hebert (Gil Hebert), Bethany Sidoti (Jeff Sidoti) and Keely Wright (Matt Wright); grandchildren, Grayson Sidoti (14), Skylar Sidoti (12), Cruz Hebert (9), Saxon Sidoti (8) and Kinsley Wright (5); sister, Patsy Thomas as well as dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews will miss him dearly until they meet once again. Please come share your best and most humorous Harry Crane story at his visitation, Friday, July 22nd, 2016 at Gardendale First Baptist Church North Campus from noon till 2pm. Funeral services will follow immediately at 2pm, with burial at Morris cemetery.
