Brandon Ray Watson

Brandon Ray Watson of Madison, Alabama passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 18, 2024. Born on January 22, 1989, Brandon lived most of his life in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Hewitt Trussville High School and the University of Alabama. He spent over 15 years working as an HVAC/R Technician and over 7 years traveling the country as a train conductor. Most recently, he served as a dental equipment service technician for Henry Schein alongside several of his closest friends. Brandon met the love of his life, Linnea, in 4th grade then 24 years later, God brought them together again. They were married on January 13, 2024. They built a beautiful, joyful life together in a short time--filled with evenings of ice cream, praising the Lord through music and song, and snuggling with their precious daughter Eliana aka “Goose,” as Brandon would call her. If you ask Brandon’s family and friends, they will tell you how deeply Brandon loved and was loved, how he was a devoted friend. They will tell you how he enjoyed spending time on the water catching fish and how he loved Alabama football. They will tell you how he relished nature, how he was a talented musician who loved playing guitar and leading worship. They will tell you how he loved their children and how their children adored him. They will tell you how his smile lit up a room, and how his hugs were the greatest comfort you could find this side of Heaven. They will tell you how he loved God and walked with the Lord. He joins his Da-Da, Carroll Edward Cox, and his Papaw and Nana, Billy Ray and Frances Watson, in Heaven. Brandon is survived by the love of his life, Linnea, and he was so proud to be “B” to their daughter, Eliana (4). He is survived by his Gran, Betty Cox; his mother and stepfather, Connie and Alex Cooper; his father and stepmother, Ray and Dawna Watson; and his mother and father-in-law, Doreen and Derrell Pepper. Brandon is deeply missed by his sister, Bethany Maldon, and his niece, Hendrix; his sister, Breanna Watson; his brother and sister-in-law Ryan and DeeAnn Gunnells and their children Easton, Evan, and Elliott; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Hunter Gunnells and their children Alina and Roman; and his brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Medora Gaddes and their children Michael Joe and Ellarie. The loss of Brandon leaves a void that aches in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mayfair Church of Christ labeled in honor of Brandon Watson.
