Allan Lee Kennedy

Allan Lee Kennedy, 71, went to be with the Lord March 11, 2026, in Savannah, GA. He was born in Birmingham, AL, on Sept 12, 1954, to Robert Lee Kennedy and Martha Ellen Love Kennedy who both predeceased him, and both sets of grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine Jones Kennedy and their son Stanley Robert Kennedy, his wife Amber Elizabeth Wright Kennedy whom he adored, and two much loved granddaughters Blakely Elizabeth and Riley Katherine Kennedy. He is also survived by his sister Karen Kennedy Stridiron (Allan) and their children Jason Stridiron (Carolina), and nephew Dustin Stridiron and Laura Stridiron Aven, and his sister-in-law, Lauren Jones Taylor (Rodney) and niece Haley Taylor Davis (Alex), in addition to great nieces and nephews. Allan was employed by St. Joseph Candler Hospital System, Savannah, GA, for the past 13 years as Vice President of the St. Joseph Candler Physician Network, a position he enjoyed a great deal as he was able to contribute to the whole system. Also, for many years he held a similar position at the Baptist Health System in Alabama. He really enjoyed healthcare as he felt he was helping people. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL in Chemistry and Biology, and held graduate degrees from UAB in Public Health and Business Administration. He was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church and previously the First Baptist Church of Center Point, both in Birmingham, AL, where he had served at both churches on the Board of Deacons, and Finance Committees. Allan had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a younger age and that belief guided his life and decisions. Overall, Allan’s joy in life was his family and after-work responsibilities, he wanted to spend all his time with them. He and Elaine had been married only a few months short of 50 years. After 15 years, they had Stanley who immediately became his other joy in life, and later, daughter-in-law Amber, and then his young granddaughters. He loved being with them and never minded if they were loud or crying, entertaining them with cartoons on his laptop if needed. He was a wonderful father to Stanley, never missed a sporting event, and helped coach Stanley’s ball teams as needed. He had been a good basketball player and was able to coach Stan’s 12th grade rec league basketball team to the championship after their coach-less dismal 0-2 start, a fond memory for all. Allan was his family’s biggest supporter and encourager. He was always there for us…always. We loved him so much. We know he’s happy in heaven, but he will be forever missed by us and his yellow lab Beau.
