Timothy "Tim" Edward Kight

Timothy Edward Kight passed away peacefully at his home in Odenville, Alabama on August 2, 2021. Tim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Kight. Tim is preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Suzanne Kight. Tim is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Holly Kight, his granddaughters, Amber Cole and Hanna Hanes and his grandsons, Christopher and Dillon Cole. Tim is also survived by his sister, Sandra Bader and numerous nieces and nephews. Tim was born on July 29, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was an avid fisherman and he loved his Triton boat. He frequently fished Lake Jordan, Lake Mitchell, and Lay Lake. He created many friendships through fishing. When not in his boat, Tim could be found keeping his yard in tip top shape, cutting the neighbors’ yard or giving the neighborhood kids a ride on his golf cart. He graduated from Woodlawn High School and earned a degree in business from Jefferson State. Tim was also a Vietnam Veteran, that served in the First Infantry Division (Big Red One). He is a recipient of the Bronze Star. Tim was an extremely selfless person who would do anything for those whom he loved. Tim was also beloved by his grandchildren’s friend and the neighborhood kids who all called him Peepaw. He was always available for a helping hand to those who needed him, no questions asked. Tim’s funeral will be heled at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, Alabama, Thursday August 5, 2021 from noon to 2 P.M. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
