Rosalie Banks Beard, 69, of Trussville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2020. She was born on June 21, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio to Harvey and Opal Banks. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marshall Banks. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lloyd Hill Beard of Trussville; daughter, Brenna (Steven) Powell of Gardendale; son, Aaron (Hollie) Beard of Trussville; and son, Andrew (Kaleigh) Beard of Gardendale; Brothers, Russell Banks of New Lebanon, Ohio and Michael Banks of Buffalo, New York; Six grandchildren: Lily and Jackson Powell and Kaylee, Elijah, Malachi and Emerson Beard; also countless other extended family members who loved her dearly. Rosalie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a tireless advocate for children in her home, her special education classroom, her Bible classes and as a foster parent. She was a gifted seamstress and well known for creating lovely baby gowns, quilts and other meaningful heirlooms to share with those she loved. Above all, she loved her Lord and serving others. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 in the morning at Deerfoot Memorial, 5360 Deerfoot Parkway in Trussville, Alabama. The family will receive visitors that morning from 9:30 to 11:00. Burial will follow in Trussville Memorial Cemetery. Friends are welcome to send flowers in her honor, but the love, prayers and other extensions of sympathy are valued most. Donations in Rosalie’s memory may be made to Glenwood, a home for those with autism and other needs, a cause that meant a great deal to her (Glenwood Autism & Behavioral Health Center, Attn: Development, 150 Glenwood Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242).
