Rita Ann Hall Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Ms. Rita Ann Hall, 77, will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home 5360 Deerfoot Parkway, Trussville. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with services immediately following. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. Pall Bearers will be Herman Runyan, Craig Campbell, Todd Lackey, Tommy Runyan, Mark Runyan, Cade Runyan. Following an extensive illness, she peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, July 25, 2021. She was born on August 27, 1943 in Etowah County, graduated from Etowah High School where she was a cheerleader. She later moved to Birmingham where she worked in sales, retail, management, event planning and marketing. Rita was an amazing artist. With her brush and paint, anything would become a canvas. She arranged beautiful floral arrangements, enjoyed cooking for her family and could decorate anything to perfection. She constantly brought out life and beauty in all that she touched. Rita loved her Lord, she loved her family, her extended family, and always wanted to be of service to others. She was a member of Palmerdale United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her daughter Lea Ann Weems Sexton, granddaughter April Nicole Sexton; son- in- law Steve Sexton; parents Herman and Gladys Runyan, Brothers: Herman Runyan, William “Billy” Runyan, Edmond Shealey; Sisters: Dot Sauls, Betty Kilgo, Gailor Campbell. Rita is survived by her soul mate and loving husband of 36 years, Robert Samuel Hall. Her last words were to him, holding his hand, just as they always did in their day to day life. Rarely does a couple enjoy the bond of truly being one as Bob and Rita had. Their marriage was all consuming of each other, and it was evident anytime anyone was around them. She is also survived by her son John (Mary) Weems from Birmingham, Daughter Robyn Lloyd from Las Vegas, NV, Trish (Guadalupe) Garcia from Virginia Beach, VA Granddaughter, Alicia (Corey) Trammell from Dunwoody, GA; Gabrielle Garcia from Virginia Beach, VA; Grandson: Jesse (Kayla) Weems from Leeds; Jordan Huey from Nashville, TN; Mason (Brey) Riccio from Las Vegas, NV; Issa Garcia from Virginia Beach, VA; Great grandchildren: James Henry Weems and Warren Laine Trammell. She is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. Rita will best be remembered by her larger than life personality. Her love for God, her husband, her family, always looking picture perfect with her jewelry, hair and nails just so, so, and most of all her ability to light up a room. Enjoy your peace and your blessed reward. You have fought the good fight, ran the race and now you will spend an eternity adding your touch of sparkle to Heaven just as you did here on earth. You will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.
