Peggy Laverne Parks Salzburn, age 89, peacefully met her Lord and Savior surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, December 27, 2019. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Walter Salzburn, her parents Cary F. Parks and Annie Deadman Parks, her son Derryck H. Salzburn and her daughter, Denise Warren. She is survived by daughter Daun King (Dana), daughter Darlene Powers, and son Derryl W. Salzburn. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandon King (Mary Anne), Sabrina Lewis, Angela King-Grundy (Andrew), Ashley Norwood, Chanel Campos (Cesar), Sheree Belcher, Brittany Norwood, Kody Salzburn (Vira), Robert Norwood, Haley Salzburn-Nguyen (George), 13 Great Grandchildren and a host of friends. Peggy was retired from the UAB Department of Music. She was a member of World Victory Church in Moody, AL. For years she participated in the Cathedral of the Cross’ Eagles Claw Ministry to the Homeless and taught a Bible Study. Services will be at Deerfoot Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Friends will be received at 1:00pm. Memorial will begin at 2:00pm with burial immediately following at Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to CJFS, 3940 Montclair Road, Suite 205, Birmingham, AL 35213.
