Patricia Camilla Benson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Patricia Camilla Benson, 78, died on May 28th surrounded by family in Birmingham, Alabama. Patricia was born March 3, 1944 in Alabama to Arnold Talley and Dorothy Black. Patricia and her husband, Patrick Henry Benson, met in Centre, Alabama in 1960 and were married May 19, 1962. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Patricia retired from American National Can after working 30 years. She was an avid University of Alabama fan, and her three granddaughters are University of Alabama graduates. She enjoyed spending time with family, listening to Elvis, watching Alabama football, shopping, doing puzzles, traveling, but most of all sitting on the beach. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gary Talley and Donnie Talley. She is survived by her husband; brother, Jeff Talley and spouse Jennifer, children Abigail and Matthew; daughter, Sharon Tapscott and spouse Greg, children Paige, Heather and Jacob; daughter Ginger Vise and spouse Scott, children Christopher and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Ava, Alec, Bella, and Cole. Visitation is Wednesday, June 1st at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home from 12 to 2 PM. Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
