Mark Burroughs

January 20, 1980 - February 25, 2022

Mark Louie Burroughs, age 42, departed this earthly life on February 25, 2022 at UAB Hospital due to a brain aneurysm. He was born in the Philippines on January 20, 1980. Mark was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At age 19, he left his home and family in Virginia Beach, Virginia to serve a two-year mission for his church to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in his homeland of the Philippines. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ, his family, sports cars, and his American Bully dogs. Mark lived life to the fullest, traveled all over the country with his eternal companion, Leo, and made friends everywhere he went. He was known for his big smile, genuine laugh, and warm nature. As his last act of kindness and selflessness he donated his organs to save the lives of many others. He was survived by his wife Leoniss Burroughs; his children (Eko) Maleko Xavier Burroughs age 14, (Eva) Leilani Evangeline Burroughs age 10, (Ezra) Makeo Ezra Burroughs age 7, (Emma) Leoniss Emma Burroughs age 3; his parents Luz and Dennis Burroughs; his sisters Sarah Black (Mike), Rebecca Burroughs, Deborah Fuchs (Alex); and his niece Alora Fuchs. A funeral service for Mark will be held on Saturday, March 5th , 2022 at 12:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1337 Springville Rd. Birmingham, Alabama, 35215.
