Margaret Carolyn Tittle

Margaret Carolyn Tittle, lovingly known as "Meme," was born on October 20, 1947, and peacefully passed away on August 14, 2024, surrounded by her devoted family at Grandview Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. The cherished daughter of Ruby Mae Reeves Putman and Coy Putman, Meme was a true Alabama native, moving throughout the state as a child while her father built bridges, laying the foundation for the strong, adventurous spirit that defined her life, In 1966. Meme married the love of her life, Rex Terrell "Pop/Papa" Tittle. Their marriage spanned 54 wonderful years until Pop's passing in 2020. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a shared passion for their family and the simple joys of life. A proud graduate of Leeds High School, Meme began her professional journey as a bank teller before finding her true calling as a veterinary technician, where she combined her love for animals with her remarkable work ethic. Meme had a zest for life that was as vibrant as contagious. She had a passion for square dancing and, at one time, was an avid participant in dog shows. Some cherished moments, however, were those spent with her "Bitches with Hitches" and "Sister's on the Fly" women's camper crew, traveling and creating lifelong memories. Yet, nothing brought her more happiness than the laughter of her children and grandchildren as they played, swam, and fished at her home. Whether cheering them on at their various sports events or sharing stories around the dinner table, Meme's heart was always fullest when surrounded by her family. Meme was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rex; her parents; her brother, Glenn; and many dear family members and friends who now welcome her home. She leaves behind a brother, Danny Putman; numerous cousins, friends and a legacy of love through her children; Christie Tittle, Michael Tittle, and Kelly (Alison) Tittle; and her cherished three-legged wonder dog, Buttercup. Meme's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Anthony Grillo, Niki (Nick) Chybrzynski, Amy (Wesley) Derick, Owen Scharf, Casey Tittle, Clay (Celia) Tittle, and Cole Tittle; and her beautiful great-grandchildren, Eli, Maci, and Dawson. Services will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home, 5360 Deerfoot Parkway, Trussville, AL 35173. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service from 2:00-3:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Nick Chybrzynski.
