James R. “Rocky” Sandlin, age 70, of Odenville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 17, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, father-in-law and son-in-law and friend to many. He retired from Frito- Lay with 20 years of service. He enjoyed playing the guitar and working with his hands. He loved beach time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Ann Garner Sandlin; a brothers, Stevie Sandlin, Ronnie Sandlin and Johnny Sandlin. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jan Sandlin; his children, Bryan (Laurie) Sandlin, Stacy (Bryon) Bonafede, Keri (Buzz) Russell and Wesley Sandlin; his grandchildren, Micah, Lily, and Urijah Sandlin, Molly, Lucy Presley, Ava, Lexi, Jake and Troy Bonafede; His brothers, Bruce and Dennis (Gayle) Sandlin; his sister, Cheryl (Cody) Chunn; his father-in-law, Carl Hoffman and many extended family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2020 from 10 am until 11 am at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Sulphur Springs Cemetery with Rev. Dewey Corder officiating.
