Ellen Barton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ellen Perry Barton went home early on the morning of April 4th , 2022, at the age of 106. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Barton; mother, Hattie Adelia Kelly; father, David Franklin Perry; sister, Leona Kirtley; sister, Elsie Jane Bullock; niece, Janelle Godfrey; niece, Jane Ingram, and nephew, Bobby Kirtley. She is survived by her son, Craig Bradley; daughter in law, Joyce Bradley; granddaughter, Ginger Umland; great grandson, Tony Jewell; niece, Janice Givens; step grandsons RC Price, Stanley Price, Darrel Brown, and Gordon Brown; and many loving family members, including Doug Umland, Doug Godfrey, Perry Godfrey, Roland Godfrey, William Godfrey, Glenn Kirtley, Glenda Kirtley, and Rogers Kirtley-Peyton. She was retired from Jefferson Shoe Company, where she was Credit/Office Manager for many years. She graduated from Howard College (Samford University), were she was a member of Beta Sigma Omicron and Zeta Tau Alpha Sororities. She was a long time resident of Locust Fork, Alabama, and long time faithful member of Turning Point United Methodist Church (Tabernacle UMC) in Locust Fork, where she served in many capacities, including Treasurer and class teacher. She resided at TLC Nursing Center in Oneonta for several years prior to her death with additional care by Encompass Hospice in Oneonta also. The care provided by the caring personnel at both was wonderful and thanks are given. Funeral will be at Turning Point United Methodist Church in Locust Fork on April 15th at 11:00 a.m.(visitation at 10:00). Burial will be at Ridout's Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Turning Point United Methodist Church at PO Box 103, Locust Fork, Al 35097.
