Betty Jean Waldrop Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jean Waldrop passed away at home Wednesday morning October 28th 2020, one month shy of her 89th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Sid Waldrop. Jean is survived by her sons Pat, Mike(wife, Kenda), Denis (wife, Kelly) and daughter Laurie Box, sister Alice Presley (husband, Ralph), brother in law Butch Waldrop (wife, Nancy), nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Betty (Jean) grew up an Army brat and was born in Atlanta, Ga to father Benjamin E. Parrish and mother Vey Jones Parrish. She attended High School in Tampa, FL and Nursing School in Atlanta, Ga. After meeting, marrying and moving to Birmingham, AL with husband Sid until 1978 lived in Ashville, AL until this day. She was well known by her community as an animal loving, hard-working, trusted friend. She was a member of Argo Christian Fellowship Church. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the church cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home 5360 Deerfoot Parkway Trussville, AL 35173 Visitation is Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 12:30pm CT – 2:00pm CT with funeral services held immediately afterwards. A small graveside burial service will be held afterwards at Argo Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery 936 U.S. HWY 11 Trussville, AL 35173. All attendees are welcomed CoVid-19 safety measures in place. Please honor social distancing guidelines as well as follow the state mandated mask requirements.
