Avon P. Hollander, age 93, of Birmingham, Alabama went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2019. She worked at Calders Furniture, Sears and JC Penny in the Birmingham area where she enjoyed helping her customers. She loved working in her yard, taking care of her flower gardens and taking care of her family. She was a member and supporter of Unity Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Hollander; her parents and her brother. She is survived by her daughters, Sonia Mink and Angela Morgan (David); grandchildren, Michele Earnest (Chip), Suzette Hockert and Valerie Aroacha; great-grandchildren, Justin Hockert, Maddie Earnest, Zoey Earnest, Annabel Aroacha, Victor Aroacha; great-great grandchild, Sophie Renee Hockert and her nephew, Tony Patterson (Debbie). Memorial service will be on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Committal service will be on Friday at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
