Rebecca Davis

Rebecca Sue Ellard Davis, known to most as "Becky", departed this earthly life peacefully surrounded by her loving children and family by her side. As they said their farewells here on earth, her heavenly family and friends welcomed her home on November 29th 2023. She will be missed greatly but we rejoice in the fact that she is now living eternally with her Lord and Savior. Rebecca was one of eight children. She was born in 1951 and was 71 years of age. She was looking forward to celebrating her next birthday on December 21st of this year. Previously departed relatives were her Grandparents, Merritt Ellard & Sarah Appleberry Ellard, Frank & Donia Leona Smith Baker; Parents; George Bunyan Ellard & Emma Pearl Harrington, Step-father Stephen J. Harrington, Brothers; Gregory Ellard, Ronald Ellard, Randy Ellard, and Brother-in-law Robert McCoy. Rebecca is survived by her loving children; Aondrea L. Davis & Lonnie R. Davis, Brother; John Baker Ellard (Ginny), Sisters; Martha Aldridge, Mechelle McCoy, Marchelle Ellard, Sister-in-law’s Elizabeth Ellard and Dawn Ellard, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved extended family and friends. Rebecca was met with many challenges in her life. She was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but was a sweet, generous soul. A heart of gold and her giving nature were traits that highlighted her compassionate personality. Rebecca found great comfort in the beauty and artwork of God's creation, most particularly the sunsets and white sand at Panama City Beach, her favorite place to visit. Rebecca’s favorite poem was “Footprints in the Sand”. She was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. She was also a lover of Pepsi soda and way too many types of food to list. She loved Christmas time and enjoyed seeing all of the Christmas lights. She especially loved celebrating the birth of Christ. She cared for and deeply loved her family so very much. The most important of all things in her life were her children, as she often referred to them as her “Pride and Joy”, Aondie & Lonnie and the love and adoration she had for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family would like to express a heart felt “Thank You” to all of the nurses and staff for such exceptional care at the following facilities: Meadowview Nursing Facility Compassus Hospice - Jessica St. Vincents East SICU - Robin A special thank you to Pamela and Marty Tidmore. In lieu of a traditional memorial service and as a woman of faith, Rebecca wished to have her passing onto heaven celebrated and rejoiced. A celebration service will occur at a later time to be announced, as details of the upcoming service are still being determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Rebecca’s memory by performing a random act of kindness, out of love and generosity such as, doing something kind for someone, even a stranger in need. This was her legacy and how she would want her memory to live on in the lives of others.
