Elizabeth Dean Caswell

Mrs. Elizabeth Dean Crim Caswell, 77, of Springville, AL was received home by the Lord on December 10, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Julus B. Crim; parents, Arnold “Shorty” Tibbs and Mary Maude Houston Tibbs; brothers James Tibbs and Jerry Tibbs. Mrs. Caswell is survived by her husband of 7 years, James Caswell of Springville; daughters Kim Chamness (Wayne) of Ashville; Tabitha Caterinichia (Mark) of Springville; 3 granddaughters Amber Brewer (Joseph) of Ashville; Morgan Caterinichia of Tuscaloosa, Emma Grace Caterinichia of Springville; great grandchildren Adam, Luke, Bailey and Colt Brewer of Ashville; with a host of nieces and nephews and extended family Dee Nixon of Springville, Debbie Roader (Ronald) of Pennsylvania, James I Caswell (Shannon) of Pell City; with 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Caswell has 11 surviving siblings; sisters June Smith of Ashville, Loretta Morgan of Springville, Robbie Whisnant of Ashville, Sara Fuller of Ashville, Sheila Tolbert of Ashville; brothers Rev. Terry Tibbs (Judy) of Steele, Tommy Tibbs of Oneonta, Justin Tibbs (Vickie) of Oneonta, Carlon Tibbs (Rita) of Moundville. Mrs. Caswell was a member of New Lebanon Baptist Church in Springville. She retired from United Chair Company after 28 years of service. She was saved as a young child at the age of 10 years old at Popular Springs Church in Ashville. She served as a pastor’s wife for 12 years at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Ashville and a deacon’s wife for 7 years at New Lebanon Baptist Church in Springville. Mrs. Caswell loved her family and friends and enjoyed helping them in any way she could. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cleaning and carpentry work. She could do just about anything she set her mind to do. She was a woman of multiple talents. She loved staying busy and would find things to occupy her time. Funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at New Lebanon Baptist Church, Springville, with her pastor Rev. John Robertson and her son in law, Rev. Wayne Chamness officiating, Sis. Mary Jane Smallwood as the pianist / singer. Graveside prayer was led by Bro. Ralph Martin. Pallbearers were her family, Rev. Terry Tibbs, Justin Tibbs, Tommy Tibbs, Joseph Brewer, Jackie Vaughn, Adam Brewer, Sonny Tibbs and Tyler Underwood. Deerfoot Funerial Home, Trussville, oversaw arrangements. As a precautionary measure all the family would like to thank everyone for wearing a face mask to the service and for practicing social distancing as much as possible.
