Charles Joseph Lowery

Charles “Charlie” Joseph Lowery, age 70, went home to be with Jesus on March 26, 2021. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 2, 2021 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11:00AM with Pastor Brad Smith officiating. The Graveside will follow at Cleveland Cemetery in Blount County. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Janice; sister, Becky Rainey; he dearly loved his nieces and nephews, Shannon, Jeff, Lee, Anna, Allison, Shane, Diana, Guy, Phyllis, Joseph, Jordan P. Jordan, Chuck, Hayley, Charley, Bo; aunt, Christine, Del, Carol, and cousins, friends and co-workers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Odessa Lowery; Charles Rainey; Buddy and Granny Bryan; Laura and Douglas Burns. Charles retired from Precision Husky in sales, service, and fabrication for 40 years, he was a dedicated hard working man. He was an avid bass fisherman, he participated in numerous bass tournaments and won a lot of trophies. He was a member of the Peckerwood Creek Hunting Club. He served on the Board of Directors at the Davis Lake Fire Department from 2009-2012. His faith and belief in Jesus sustained him throughout his battle with cancer. He sat in his favorite chair and read his devotional and prayed every morning. He was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church. Janice and Charles would like to thank their church family for all the love, cards, phone calls, visits and meals! Janice and Charlie were best friends and enjoyed taking trips to Georgia, the Mountains, and the Beach. They loved taking long boat rides on the Coosa River. Charlie loved taking his wife to UGA football games to watch Joseph march in the Redcoat Band. They often took day trips to eat BBQ, do arts and crafts and music festivals. Going to Jordan’s football, basketball, and baseball games, gave Janice and Charlie something fun to look forward to. Janice expressed how “he always thanked me for every meal I prepared and always helped with the clean-up. He was a sweet loving husband and a wonderful provider.” “My heart is broken but he is with Jesus, and at peace with no more sickness” We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Matthew Pierce, Dr. Kent Tucker and the Alabama Oncology team for their outstanding and excellent medical care, love and support. Many thanks to the CVICU at St Vincent’s East and also the Davis Lake Fire Department.
